You guys aren't a very talkative group, unless its the chat so I wanted to start a topic to get peeps involved.
We all like digimon obviously or we wouldn't be here enjoying each others companionship. However I'm curious to see if we have anything else that we watch in common.
What other anime's have you people watched if you can remember them all.
Myself I've watched and in some cases still watching the following. Bleach Naruto Shippuden Naruto Kentekkyo Hitman Reborn Fairy Tail Yu-Gi-Oh GX Vampire Knight Xam'd Loveless Tales of Symphonia OVA .hack//Legend of the Twilight .hack//Roots .hack//Unison .hack//G.U. Trilogy Dragonball Z, GT Avatar the Last Airbender
I think thats all of them. o.o

-Cough-AvatarisnotananimesillyUsa-Cough-NeitherisSonicX-Cough-SamegoesforTeenTitans-Cough- Seriously though, an Anime is a show made in Japan for a Japanese audience (the same applies for Manga). It's one of my pet peeves when someone refers to a non-Anime/Manga as an Anime/Manga.
Personally, my Anime experience is fairly limited and somewhat shameful:
TV Yugioh (All three, I'm awful) Digimon (All of them) Pokemon (Personally loathed the RSE Series, enjoyed the others, acknowledge it's a weeeeaaak anime) Megaman EXE (That's me being awkward - unless it hasn't been released overseas, I will replace Rockman with Megaman) Fruits Basket Bleach (Hate) Naruto (HATE) Lupin III Death Note Macross Gundam (Wing, Original, and that one that was a big world tournament) Bitses of Fullmetal Alchemist Gurren Lagaan
Movies Entire Ghibli Collection (personal favourite is tied between The Cat Returns, Howl's Moving Castle, and Spirited Away)
I'm done. Anime is a tricky thing for me, because, well, the channels which air it, like Adult Swim, are damn hard to get ahold of in the UK, if at all.

I, Suddenly feel like I don't watch enough anime *twitches*
Although I forgot to put on my list Dragon Drive, Zoids, Soul Eater, and Outlaw Star which I still need to finish. I am overwhelmingly glad no one here said One Piece, because that show is just, well why?

US version of Rockman.EXE was Megaman NT Warrior I think...which I never watched. Just the subbed stuff.
Sonic X was produced in Japan...and has a Japanese release so..I think it is still an anime? (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sonic_X)
Teen Titans was made to be in the right style, but yes technically not anime. Which is exactly why I listed it separate.
So I think the only thing which really broke the pet peeve was Avatar =)
Also, Sailor Moon is missing from my list...and Disgaea...and Vandread....and I have Scryed sitting on my desk that I need to watch still...

Sonic X is a funny one. I say it isn't anime because, as far as I know, it was produced with an American audience in mind/for an American audience. And yeah, I just felt like mentioning that Teen Titans was one of the not-anime mentioned - in fact, I wouldn't even say it's anime-esque, it's more like some sort of super-expressive art style influenced by anime and several other sources.

I don't get why they went and got a Japanese group to do the opening if it wasn't meant to be anime-esque then?
Sonic X is however, listed on most lists of shows considered anime. Also, Sega had to have some hand in it, and Sega is a company based in Japan. Additionally, it did have to go through a translation process. It also was censored when it came to the US, which makes it seem more like it was not intended initially for television in the US if they had to go through the process of cutting things out to make it airable as a kids show here. =)

To me anime is considered anything drawn in the style that separates it from the average cartoon like Cartoon Network cartoons or Disney cartoons, I hate to think avatar a cartoon, it doesn't sit well with me besides just because something is based in japan like the genre of anime does not mean it solely belongs to that country.
I like to think of that as an American made anime which is by far the most successful American produced anime. Other American produced anime would be things like Teen Titans, Ben 10, Justice League, etc. these were clearly drawn in that style which therefore should be considered American anime since they were not created in Japan.
Cartoons however are things like Loony Toons, Tom and Jerry, Phineas and Ferb, Fish Hooks, etc. there style is completely different then that of the anime genre and can be classified as cartoons.

Not fighting...debating! =) Debating is good fun.
Cartoons are amazing for the record. I don't think they are average in any way...the good ones are amazing...and yes, the bad ones are terrible, but to be fair, that is how it is with most things. Cartoons which are absolutely amazing (in my opinion): Gargoyles Animaniacs Batman (Batman Beyond~!) X-men (be it the 90s cartoon, Evolution, or Wolverine and the X-men <3) Spiderman (the 90s one I grew up watching..and Spectacular Spiderman was good!) Invader Zim Freakazoid Duck Tails Tail Spin Darkwing Duck Gummi Bears G.I. Joe (more of at the insistance of my significant other to include on the list)
It just started, but DC's new Young Justice looks promising...
Not a show but...The Iron Giant was a-freaking-mazing...Secret of Nihm always has a special place to me...and Fern Gully
The Disney animated movies are pretty amazing animation too. Snow White for example...first full length cel animated movie I believe? Ah rotoscoping...but anyway...pretty cool stuff.
Maybe it's because I studied animation as part of my major, but...the classic cartoons have a lot of significance in their own ways...historically and otherwise.

We appear to have ignored such great shows as Beast Wars, Transformers Animated and MEGAS XLR on this list of amazing cartoons.
Also, Ferngully is not a good movie objectively, although I can understand why you has a like for it. and as you mentioned Disney - Tangled. Go. See. It. Now.

Seen Tangled twice...
I was going for 2D not 3D, which is why Beast Wars is not on there.
Megas XLR is good stuff indeed.

To be honest I don't like todays cartoons there not funny and quite frankly are stupid, I miss the days when I used to be able to get up in the morning go get me a bowl of frosted flakes flip on to some bugs bunny cartoons or tom and jerry and sit on the couch in my pjs enjoying my morning.
Ah good times good times. I absolutely LOVE Invader Zim and animaniacs and freakazoid, all good cartoons. There were some others I liked, I've become more of a live action kinda guy then a cartoony.
Disney knows how to tickle me funny bone plus there movies are awesomesauce material.
