"What is this?" Atlas said as he came to a soft drop. "I hear a buzzing noise and it's irritating me" Renal said looking at the far side of the room. Atlas noticed the buzzing noise and motioned to Renal to be on his guard. Renal got in a fighting position.

From the edge of the cushioned room walked - no, scuttled - a ten-foot tall creature like a monstrous stag beetle. Its shining red carapace seemed to strain under the muscles beneath it, and his massive head forced it to walk with a hunch, as if the strain of carrying it and the pair of deadly, six-foot mandibles it bore was too great. Each of its four arms was tipped with three-clawed hands so big they could easily carry a man, and somehow, its wings were more intimidating for being torn and ragged than fearsom beaters of the air. It roared at the four of them as its knarled, clawed feet tore up the cushions below it, and then it struck, its mandibles flashing as they scissored at Hewlett. Quick as a flash he leaped away, and then? The fight began.

Atlas stood there in shock. He hated bugs. Atlas couldn't move. His pupils got small and his mouth dropped open. "Atlas? Atlas! Don't just stand there do something!" Renal shouted in panic. Atlas finally came to and ran behind the great monster. Atlas looked at Renal. "Renal with this thing's size there is no way you can beat him the way you are now. Atlas' hand was covered in a purple energy. "Digisoul...Charge!" Atlas said. A bright light fired from his digivice at Renal. "Monodramon Shinka! Strikedramon!" Strikedramon stood there waiting for the bug to strike.

Hewlett watched as Renal was Digivolved into a strange looking humanoid dinosaur in baggy green trousers and armoured garters, shoulderpads, helmet and gauntlets. Bizzarely, the helmet covered his face, but Hewlett assumed that he could see anyway - which was proved correct when Renal pounced with an almost impossible combination of the grace of an Olympic gymnast and the broad aggression of a street fighter, burst into flames, and smashed into the body of the snarling, buzzing bug. Hewlett fumbled in his pocket, his composure lost somewhat after his dive. He was trying to find his Digivice, but his pockets were empty - and then he realised that the precious machine was in-between the thick, armoured legs of their foe. He gestured to Waspy, who had just fired a volley of his Gear Stingers at the monsters head, and his partner darted over to him. "Waspy," Hewlett asked. "Can you cover for me as best you can while I go and get that?" He jerked his hand out towards the Digivice. Waspy gave a slight nod, then rose back into the air and launched volley after volley of his stingers and Hewlett sprinted as fast as he could for his Digivice.

Atlas was watching the Kuwangumon closely as Strikedramon was throwing punches as if he were a professional boxer. Strikedramon came with two right jabs and then would go to punch with his left and if that hit the Kuwangumon he would come with a kick to his head.

Hewlett leapt from side to side like and uncoordinated Irish dancer as he desperately avoided the stamping feet of the feral Kuwagamon. He flailed for his Digivice and by some stroke of luck managed to grab it, at which point things took a turn for the worse - and then for the better again. Kuwagamon, with a sudden stroke of perception and skill, took hold of Renal in one of his massive claws and began to crush his lithe frame. The were some unpleasant crunching sounds and he was forced to De-Digivolve by the sheer strain and damage inflicted. As Atlas screamed in rage, his partner lapsed into unconsciousness, at which point the Kuwagamon grew bored of his plaything and flung him aside, instead choosing to focus on Hewlett. And then Hewlett's fist began to glow, and a bright orange band of data swirled about it. Almost instinctively, he raised his Digivice in his other hand and slammed his fist onto the port on the top, at which point the energy drained into it and was fired at Waspy. It wrapped him up in an orange sphere, which began to rotate at a fair speed, and as Waspy cried out "Fanbeemon, Digivolve to..." a mass of data swirled over the front of the spinning ball and coalesced into the image of a large bio-mechanical wasp crammed into the sphere. Said wasp stretched out, shattering the sphere (the shards of which almost immediately disintegrated into nothingness), and Waspy (for it was still he) declared his new identity: "Waspmon!

Atlas ran to where Renal was. Atlas had saw the digivolution and was looking at the massive bug next to Hewlett. Atlas was making sure Renal was ok. Atlas was now watching the battle from afar.

Waspy darted back and forth, to and fro like a hummingbird (because, of course, he had no legs to land on), constantly rotating his huge, pendulous stinger. As Kuwagamon snarled at the newly Digivolved insect, Waspy bellowed "Bear Buster!" and released a few sharp blasts of blue liquid-esque energy from the engine intakes-come-cannons mounted on his shoulders - these collided with Kuwagamon and stayed there momentarily (although they appeared to be pushing forward still) before detonating in a sort of water-splash crossed with an implosion-to-explosion. Kuwagamon staggered backwards, dazed, and it was at this point that Waspy saw the cracks the blast had left in the great red beetles carapace. With a chuckle, he launched another volley of Bear Busters, which soaked into his foe and blew up from the inside, shattering the exoskeleton and flinging out a large chunk of the virus shard.

Atlas had saw everything and was surprised as his eyes widened. Atlas had picked Renal up and carried him over to Hewlett and put him down. "Hey Renal you awake?" Atlas said nudging him with his foot. Renal didn't say anything but he twitched a bit when atlas nudged him. "Well i guess I'll have to carry him until he wakes up" Atlas said picking Renal up. "Where do we go from here"? Atlas said looking at Hewlett.

Hewlett looked up from the virus shard - which he had just disintegrated with the power of his Digivice - and frowned, having assumed the answer was obvious. He gestured to Waspy, who flew to his side, and nimbly hopped onto his pendulous stinger, which was easily four foot wide and six foot tall, and helped Atlas, carrying the still exhausted and damaged Renal, up onto the gold-black-striped weapon. With a nod of heads both ways, the large tick-shaped protrusions on Waspy's shoulders flashed with a bright blue light, and from them projected blue energy shaped like smooth, angled insect wings. With a graceful, controlled action, almost a push, the energy pulsed and focused downwards and Waspy, his passengers with him, soared out of the pit.

Atlas wasn't fond of the idea of riding a massive insect but could see no other way to escape that hole. As soon as they were safely above Atlas jumped down. Taking Renal on his back, began to walk deeper in without so much as a thank you, but to Atlas he didn't think much of it.
Atlas could almost feel the stare of Hewlett wondering where Atlas was going. Atlas said "This way seems to be the best way to move forward considering going back would make no sense, unless you plan to fall into any more holes this way is the only way." The last statement he meant as a joke. The tone in his voice hardly complimented the intended sarcasm.
