Melanie Nash was in a very good mood. Her older brother had told her to meet him after school, and she was very excited about this! He must have learned something really neat, as he had sounded so excited about all this! In turn, this made Mel equally excited...as she loved her brother, and everything he had to show her was always amazing. The girl hurried to their usual meeting place...around the side of the school near one of the big dumpsters. She always got there before him, as his school got out a bit later than hers.
Mel moved to sit on a slow wall, her feet dangling above the ground. It would be about half an hour or so before he would be there...and there wasn't much to do here, so she would have to entertain herself as usual. The girl glanced around for something interesting...occasionally she got lucky and someone had left some kind of soccer ball or basketball out...but today there was just some tv with a big crack running along the screen.
"Well, that's no fun." She commented to herself, eyeing the broken box. As she started to lose interest however, it seemed to take offense and flickered to life. Startled, Mel nearly fell off her perch. There was no way the thing should be working! It wasn't plugged in! She could see the plug lying lifelessly on the ground! This, clearly required investigation.
Mel shoved herself forward away from her seat, and closer to the ominously glowing white screen. Fearlessly she marched up to it, half expecting to see it was some kind of trick. Sufficed to say she was thoroughly baffled when she couldn't see anything that would indicate this was some sort of prank. Now impressed, the girl reached towards the television, and tentatively touched the screen....
