Rugner is the youngest son of a respected German aristocrat. His father always forced him and his two brothers to study hard day and night so they’ll surpass all other students in Germany National High School and be the best. And due to his study schedule, he never had any chance to interact with his friends outside school and made Rugner a loner…He preferred to be alone. The pressure to be the best of all in academic feat wasn’t that big deal for Rugner because he is a genius and doesn’t need to study as much and as hard as his brothers. However, his brothers aren’t as bright as Rugner and they struggled to cope with the pressure and that led his oldest brother to ran away from his house, while the second brother attempted to commit suicide by trying to jump from his house's roof after failing on three subjects 3 years after the oldest brother gone missing. This series of events planted seeds of hatred to his father and everyone around him.
Some times later, when Rugner was on his way to his school, he was ambushed by a group of people with knives. Rugner though they were going to mug him, so he offered all his money to them, hoping that they’ll go away after taking his money. But to his surprise, money wasn’t their target, the people grabbed Rugner and brought him to a dark tavern at the corner of the city. He was locked there for a few minutes before the tavern door opened and a muscular figure appeared. He was the boss of the group of criminals. Then, the criminals' boss tie him on a chair and said that he wanted more money than Rugner can currently offer. So he sent blackmail to Rugner's residence. After receiving this news, Rugner's father though that this was only simple prank and replied the letter rudely. This made the kidnappers mad and started beating Rugner until his body was full of bruises and blood coming out from several parts of his body. But then, before the kidnappers can do anything more, someone covered in thick black coat appeared and jester shaped hat forced his way inside the building and easily beat the kidnappers until they were fainted and untied Rugner. After completing his mission, the mysterious person dissapeared just like that.
After arriving at home, his father yelled at him for not showing to school, he didn’t even pay attention to Rugner’s injuries. After some time, Rugner told his father what happened. His father was surprised but he didn’t care. He still forced his son to study after he beat him with a stick for not going to school, regardless what had happened. Later that night, Rugner’s heart was filled with sorrow and hatred…. To what happened to him earlier and moreover, to his heartless father. He lost his mind and attacked his father with a knife, injuring him severely. Then, knowing that he is in danger of being sent to jail, he tried to hide. But the ruckus he made attracted the attention from the maids and butlers. Having no other way to escape, Rugner ran to his room and locked the door. He changed his clothes and turned the lamp off, covered in fear but he didn’t regret what he had done. Few minutes later, a bright light appeared from his PC and a voice called his name several times. Rugner didn’t answer for the first two calls and when the voice called him for the third time, Rugner answered and he suddenly got absorbed inside his PC. There, inside the PC…. In the new world, he received his Digivice and met his digimon partner, Demi-Devimon. Rugner von Hasselhorf now roam the digiworld with his partner as a fugitive from the real world….
