Hewlett backed away from the towering figure in front of him. It was at least twelve foot tall, with black skin and an impressively toned musculature. It looked for all the world like a massive, muscular man - but then again, most people don't have skin the colour of coal and four arms. Upon its feet, back and knuckles, a fire simmered, and it wore very little - red loincloth under a white rope belt, a pair of golden armlets and long bracelets on each of its arms, a gold bead necklace, and a curious broken crescent moon of gold upon its back. But what struck Hewlett the most about the Digimon was its head. It had three faces - one at the front, one at the left, and one at the right. The face looking at them was under a yellow mask, and it was smiling. "Greetings, oh Chosen Children," it said, in a gravelly voice (a gravelly voice sounding as overjoyed as a gravelly voice could sound). "And welcome to the Citadel. Come - we must talk of many things, and there is only so much time to do it." He turned and began to walk down the corridor. Hewlett shrugged, turned to the others, and said, "I'm going with him - coming?"

Teo thought of the mon a scary odd looking one so he stayed close to Usa. Yami looked at him "I'll protect you if need be Teo don't worry but I doubt Asuramon will harm us."
Teo gave a faint smile "Yea..." Teo was still nervous but Yami's words were reassuring. Teo nodded to Hewlett's question he trusted Hewlett's decisions so he would go even if his mind refused.

The group arrived in what must have been the central hall of the Citadel - a large, cavernous room of sleek silver-blue metal, but architecture that still hybridized sci-fi with cathedral with Arabian Nights. In the centre of the dome-shaped room was a large, black device, which looked exceptionally sturdy, and rather sinister. Asuramon sat down on the floor to the left of the room, and gestured for the others to follow his lead. Hewlett did so, and Waspy set himself down beside him, humming bemusedly to himself. Asuramons face suddenly spun around, replaced by an angry, serious looking red-masked one, and he began to speak.

I shrank back slightly from the angry face. Vee looked at me."It's ok Usa-chan." he said and smiled. I nodded.

Asuramon began his tale - the story of how the Island had come to be the way it was. "Several thousand Digital years ago, there was a war. One of the Angels - a group of poweful Digimon who serve our overall leader, the Lord Sovereign Fanglongmon - rebelled. He had somehow become massively powerful, and was thus quick to taint his commander and five other high Angels, who thus became his Demon Lords. He created a mighty army of Dark Digimon and waged war on us all." "The four Sovereign and the remaining Angels struck back and formed a powerful army of their own, their forces bolstered by the Royal Knights and Olympus Twelve, who serve what you would call our god, Yggdrasil." He sighed, a heavy sigh filled with the weight of his age, his experiences. "In the end, Fanglongmon intervened and ended the war by deleting the soldiers of darkness and granting the Demon Lords itting punishments. Their leader was placed in a mighty prison." Another sigh - and his face switched again, to a blue-masked, weary face. "Early in the war, the Demon Lords struck at this city - at the time whole and on the ground - because it was where Digimon were reborn. They also wished to access the knowledge of the scholars and prophets of the city. To defend us, the Angel Cherubimon launched our city into the sky." He paused for a while, reflecting on what happened next. "One-hundred-one years ago, however, a dark Digimon came here - despite it being so long since the war - and attacked us with a virus. The virus drove Digimon to feral madness, and, eventually, they became his soldiers. However, the virus shattered the island, which kept it inside the center of the city - and to ensure the rest of the Digital World was safe, we created a seal to prevent anything entering or exiting the city." He stopped talking, and began to meditate.

During Asuramon's tale, Yami began to snooze off he could never pay attention to old people talking about history but he did manage to hear one part of it.
"Wait...................did he just say seal? As in were stuck in this city? As in we can't leave? And were surrounded by this virus? Oi vie...." Yami put his head down.
Teo sorta smiled at Yami

Asuramon frowned. "Not quite - the virus is currently unable to leave what remains of the city, at least in its transferrable form. It is naturally a gas, you see, and in a Digimon it becomes a solid stone or shard. As it is, the steets are exceptionally dangerous at night - the virus emerges as a choking, almost impentrable blackness." He smiled a little, but did not change faces. "And there is a way to both open the seal and cleanse the virus - and that is why myself and my peers have brought you here. We need you, with your power to Digivolve and your inner strengths, to travel throughout the island fragments and recover their hearts - what you would call a daytah bakkupp. Along the way, you will find other Chosen Children: you must join with them. For every bakkupp returned to the Citadel, we can fight back the virus a little more, and once all of them are returned..." Hewlett suddenly spoke up. "The island comes back together, doesn't it? And the seal opens."

"So we need to travel to each island fragment and collect these data backups and that will allow us to cleanse the virus?" I asked quietly.

"That's about the long and short of it, Milady." At the sound of a familiar voice, Hewlett wheeled around - and saw a ten foot tall, yellow furred ape standing behind the group. "Apemon! You're back to normal, I see." The sage Digimon nodded, and led the group into another room.

Teo followed behind Hewlett "No wonder it smells like ape....."Yami said.
Teo softly tapped Yami on the top of his head "Yami, be nice, don't forget you owe Apemon for saving your life." Teo said. "Hmm...thats not how I remember it I had to save HIM from that sea lizard when I evolved."
"Well, you never would have got that chance if Apemon had not been there." Teo scolded ".............I guess............."

I smile and hug Apemon. "Good to have you back, well, you know what I mean." I place my hand behind head, smiling.

Hewlett looked around the room they were in. There was a large map in the center of it, attached to some complicated-looking machinery, and a tall, round-ish gate-like construct to one side. The map was clearly of the island, with illuminated spots on each fragment, where, he assumed, the data backups were hidden. There were also several moving illuminations, which were presumably other Chosen Children. "So then, Apemon. Where are we?

Teo looked at all the blinking lights "Its like a big video game!" Teo said "Video Game? Whats that?" Yami asked. "Its something humans play with to have fun when were bored." Yami gave a confused look he wasn't to sure on what it was.
