Lyla and Yokomon came to the edge of a field. The dividing line between the rainforest and this new area was not gradual at all.
"Are we in a new town?" Lyla asked.
"No," Yokomon replied. "This is Puppetry Fields! There should be a lot of... friendly Digimon... here..." He looked concerned.
"You don't sound very sure of that." Lyla raised an eyebrow.
"Well... I mean I think there are. There are good and bad people, and there are good and bad Digimon. But don't worry about that, your partner is here to protect you!" Yokomon nodded. Lyla wasn't entirely convinced.

Lyla was confused and kind of annoyed. This was getting weird, and she didn't really want to have to be protected. She didn't want to be in danger at all. But she wouldn't be getting her wish today, as a cry echoed from behind her.
"CRAZY SONIC!!" A horrible screech followed, sending waves of energy toward Lyla. She whipped around, but before she could figure out what was happening, Yokomon had leapt inbetween her and the creature.
"BUBBLE BLOW!!" Yokomon shouted, spewing pink bubbles toward the attacker. They broke up the waves a bit, but didn't seem to do anything to the blue bat-like Digimon before them.
"What is that!?!? What's happening!?" Lyla yelled.
"It's Pipismon! He's probably not such a friendly guy!" Yokomon replied.
"Yeah, no kidding!" She huffed. She gazed at the creature with the gaping maw of shiny, sharp teeth, and metal hooks adorning every appendage. Needless to say, she was horrified out of her wits.

Pipismon reared his head back and let out another ear splitting screech.
"SKY JACKER!!" It announced, launching a lightning barrage at the pair. Lyla let out a cry. Suddenly, Yokomon began to glow. As time seemed to stop, Lyla looked on in awe.
"Yokomon digivolve to..." His form began to change as their surroundings darkened. "FLORAMON!"
Floramon quickly tackled Lyla, knocking her back. Pipismon's attack had missed, if only by a hair. Before he could launch another, Floramon retaliated.
"STAMEN ROPE!" Out of his flowery arm shot a vine, which he used to swing up onto the Digimon. He pointed his hands at Pipismon's face. "RAIN OF POLLEN!" A yellow powder burst from each arm, leaving Pipismon blinded and choking. Floramon leapt to the ground.
"Run." He told Lyla.
"Wh-" She started.
"Run. Run! RUN!!!" He screamed.
This was not the best time to argue, she figured. While Pipismon flapped around the trees, wheezing and trying to regain his composure, the pair ran as fast as they could into the distance.
"Yokomon?" Lyla puffed inbetween breaths.
"It's Floramon now!" He panted.
"Whatever!" She snapped. "...That was pretty awesome."
They both smiled at each other, and cautiously looked back. From what they could tell, Pipismon wasn't going to give chase.

"I don't... think he's following us!" Lyla panted.
"Yeah... yeah I think you're right!" Floramon agreed. They both slowed to a stop to catch their breath.
"So what are we doing in this place? Why am I here?" Lyla asked.
"Because," Floramon told her. "Because I have to do something, and you have to help me."
"And you don't exactly know what we're supposed to be doing." Lyla crossed her arms. "Right?"
"Well..." Floramon narrowed his eyes. "At least we can figure out what the next step is. How close are we?"
"Huh? Oh, yeah, I almost forgot." She took out her Digivice and stared into the screen. "I'm not sure what the scale is on this, but it looks like we're really close!"
"Great, I'm tired of walking." Floramon sighed and closed his eyes. Suddenly, he lurched forward.
"What?" Lyla stared at him.
"Do you hear that?" Floramon looked around slowly. "It sounds like..."
"Growling?"
"...Uh oh."
"Should we run?"
Before Floramon could answer her question, a small crowd of infected had leapt out of the forest and were speeding toward them. Lyla and Floramon wasted no time in taking off, screaming.
"I don't think we can outrun them!" Lyla cried.
"I know!!" Floramon shouted. "Just try to get to that house over there!!" He pointed at a serene, quiet looking mansion in the distance.
Lyla nodded. Maybe it was where her Digivice was trying to take them? Seemed like their best option, anyways...
