Converging in the Realm of Evil

As Yang landed from his attack he bent his legs and leapt to the side in case another was coming up behind him or an attack was coming from above. He spun around at the completion of this move, his headband whipping around him. His eyes flashed as he saw the damage his enemy had taken. Yang grunted in pride, he liked this form, he could do things in this form. Devimon looked up, and Yang didn't even need his mind scanning ability to tell that he was pissed off. Shiv smiled, their sync giving him such excellent tactical data from just about everybody. With this he could effectively grasp the situation and turn it to his favor.

"And that," He said in bratty pride, "Was the look I was waiting for."

Yin shot him a look of anger and fear. He wanted this creature to be angry?! What possible good would that do?!

"Yin!" Called Shiv, "Everbody! We need to play this by the numbers! Everyone move to a distance he can't reach you and attack when you see opportunity! No more than two simultaneous attacks, and never from opposite directions! Yin, follow your previous orders! Wizardmon! I need a distraction! Like that time on the plains!"

Yin moved to opposite Yang from Devimon as Yang took his place beside Gatomon. He was in range to assist Gatomon if needed, but not enough that they could both be hit by a single attack. Yang's eyes flashed as his ability gained insight on the surface of her turmoil and her resolve. His mind reflected on the damage he had done to her in the battle with Nohemon. He looked forward again, his look becoming even more resolute.

Then, as now, he thought, I will protect my friends.

[Atlas Jiruga]

Atlas was still a little upset at Renal for what he did. "Ok Renal that worked once i am not sure that will work again. Come back we need to play this safe." Atlas said. Renal starred at Devimon. When Atlas spoke he looked at Atlas then back at Devimon. "Grraahh!" Renal said as he grabbed his head. "Grraahh!" Renal screamed again. He let go of his head and his hair bursted into wild blue flames.

"I will destroy you virus!" Renal screamed as he began to run at Devimon. "Renal what are you doing? Get back here!" Atlas screamed. Renal didn't listen he just kept running at Devimon. "Strike Fang!" Renal screamed when he got close enough to Devimon.

[Inori]

"We are providing a distraction...and won't be giving much more of one until we finish with this one." Two of the Wizardmon illusions noted in an annoyed tone. The rest of them took different sides around Devimon...though there was a gap thanks to the one illusion having been walked through earlier.

The real Wizardmon, whichever one he was...had finished charging his attack, and was now just holding onto it and waiting to actually use the attack.

Inori tried to keep out of the way, not wanting to cause trouble or force Wizardmon to shift his attention away from combat to look after her.

Devimon prepared himself to receive the attack and counter with a most devastating blow. Renals body was covered in flames an attack that would ram Devimon giving him physical and elemental damage.

Devimon wasn't about to take anymore unnecessary damage the moment where Renal was to make contact Devimon jumped just over him quickly countering with his signature move "Death Claw!" Devimon aimed for Strikedramon's back. An attack that pierces the opponents flesh and infuses viral energy into the opponent was Devimon's favorite attack when he wanted to cause serious injuries

In his current stage of rage chances of dodging especially from that close were low and Devimon knew that. Afterwards Devimon eyed the illusions carefully "I don't have time for petty tricks." Devimon said.

"Razor Wing!" Devimon sent a beam of energy from his wings attacking the illusions in the room and possibly the real one.

"Damn!" Yami went charging in to attack Devimon.

[Usachan]

Vee growled and stayed in front of Usa and Teo, acting as a guard. "Twin, think before you act!"

Usa watched as the fight progressed. "This fight seems to be going in circles." she murmured

[Dante]

Gatomon could have told them that Devimon wasn't so near to defeat as they thought. She sensed the virus attack landing on the foolish digimon, and hoped to herself that it wouldn't be overcome. She'd have to pay attention to that one and watch for signs of corruption. She stopped herself, and shook her head, her eyes closed.

Stop it, Gatomon. Pull yourself together. What do I care about viruses and darkness? Cats are born to walk the line between light and dark. Stop thinking like an angel.

Her focus returned just in time to watch Devimon fire off a hitherto unknown ranged attack in the direction of the Wizardmon squad. She knew they were pretty much all illusions, but an idea struck her.

"This fight seems to be going in circles," that girl had said. Circles, eh? Good idea. Glad there was more than one useful human in the world.

"Yin!" she called, hoping to draw his attention in time, "Cat Tail!"

A short leap put her between the nearest Wizardmon, real or illusion she couldn't tell, and the incoming beam attack. She twisted her body so that she could bring her tail to bear and her tail ring glowed. With a swat, the attack was diverted, heading now towards her teammate. There wasn't time to talk strategy, so all she could do was hope he got the message. She noticed on the way down that she was heading directly towards a certain friend...

"Yang! Gimme a boost!"

While all this was going on, Dante was sitting back watching his partner do these things. She was clearly trying to shake something off, but immediately after doing so she teams up with Brainless and Mister Congeniality? Time would tell if his little partner had come unhinged at last, but in the meantime, Dante trusted her. It was strange for him to believe in someone else like this, particularly someone he'd known for so short a time. Maybe it was something to do with the weird doohickey that the big dark fellow had returned earlier. It had brought him here in the first place, after all. Maybe it was brainwashing him. Yup, that had to be it.

Yin flinched as he saw the Devil strike the flaming champion. Then his attention was once again diverted by someone calling his name. It was the catlike champion, sending an attack at him. Yin nearly froze right there were it not for Yang needing him so desperately. He grunted as he saw an opportunity.


Yang saw what Gatomon wanted before she even spoke the words. And through him, Shiv knew it too. Yang reached out his left fist, catching the cat as though he were a falconer and she a falcon. Yang grunted with exertion and then flung Gatomon in a high arc that would put the cat digimon in perfect position to strike Devimon from a high angle.

As soon as Gatomon was airborne again Yang took off, charging the spot above which Devimon hovered. His strong legs carried him behind the Devil faster than Gatomon's aerial journey.

"Helmet Return!" Cried Yin, his helmet growing exponentially to catch the virus' errant attack and redirecting it back to Devimon. Yang angled the attack just enough that should the virus remain still, it would miss to the virus' left side, but should he dodge that direction, he would be caught by his own attack.

Yang executed a sliding half spin behind Devimon, a dust trail raising from the path his trailing food carved. A gleam of determination and righteous resolve in his eyes, Yang's fist glowed with heavenly power.

"Star Upper!" He shouted, aiming his attack just behind Devimon, so that if he dodged that direction, or took Gatomon's attack and was carried by the attack backwards, he would be struck.

Shiv smirked from the sidelines.

"Check."

[Atlas Jiruga]

Atlas was worried and nervous, his heart was pumping fast with high adrenalin. He was shaking at the mere thought that he could lose his partner. "Renal!" Atlas screamed. Renal quickly glanced back the second Devimon flipped over him and stopped his attack. He ducked and barely dodged. It just grazed him. Renal then while crouched down, went to go elbow Devimon and then would come up with an uppercut. Atlas felt a little relieved but still was worried.

[Inori]

The non-illusion Wizardmon was most thankful that he'd chosen to stand closer to Gatomon, shifting to hurl the fire attack he'd been holding towards Devimon's right side, covering the last side that Devimon could potentially dodge. The rest of the Wizardmon illusions dissipated as they were hit by Devimon's attack.

Inori silently cheered her partner on, not wanting to do so verbally for fear of attracting Devimon's attention...or distracting anyone.

Devimon became more and more pissed as the worms continued attacking now they were attempting a all angle attack using one of his own attacks as an attack.

Devimon wasted no time in picking a target, the airborne Tailmon was a good enough target to escape immeasurable damage that could possibly end his life. Devimon flew upwards taking on the incoming Tailmon. Devimon extended his claw to grab the airborne feline as she came with her attack by doing this he not only escaped the other attacks, minimized the damage by taking the solo Tailmons lightning paw but potentially had himself a nice captive.

"You idiots think I won't sacrifice my own body to kill you? What a horrible misconception. Afterall I can easily repair it unlike yours" Devimon said would then begin to squeeze his captive as tight as he could until he heard bone begin to crack.

If she some how managed to elude his grasp Devimon would attack Starmon and Strikedramon with his Razor Wing.

Yami stopped and decided to go unnoticed for a while to perform a devastating sneak attack.

Teo stayed behind Usa who were being guarded by Vee. "He is strong...stronger then any opponent we have faced." Teo said with s frown.

[Usachan]

Usa nodded then looked at Teo with a smile. "We're the good guys, there's no way we won't win. Plus we have back-up, even if they arent doing it for us." She nodded to the other Chosen and their partners.

Vee decided to attack from where he was, to help the others out. He put up his arms and the claws started to glow. He wouldn't unleash his attack until he got a clear shot.

[Dante]

Dante chuckled to himself as the trap began to snap shut. She was crazy, for sure, but she was also a genius. With a couple shouted words, all this came together. She'd gone crazy, but he didn't mind.

"Plus we have back-up, even if they aren't doing it for us."

Dante spared a sidelong glance at the girl as she spoke. She was right, of course, but it surprised him nonetheless. Even he didn't know why they were in this fight. He personally had no qualms with the big lug. Not like they'd ever met before, but Gatomon seemed seriously into the fight, so he wasn't about to start asking questions yet. They'd definitely be coming, but questions could wait.

What happened to you, Gatomon? Why are we fighting?

Gatomon was in a high arc, coming down towards Devimon. She was about to begin her attack when he flew upwards toward her, claw outstretched. Before she could even start thinking about it, she tucked her chin and turned about in the air, bringing her tail to bear on the incoming grasper.

"Cat Tail!"

Her tail ring glowed and she batted away Devimon's grip. As she turned back around, she saw Devimon turning away. So he'd found her to be defended and chose to turn his attention to her friends, who currently were in a rather compromised position.

Oh no you don't, she thought as she brought her paw back behind her head, I may not be your angel, but you can't ignore me!

"Lightning Paw!"

Her weight as she fell added force to the attack. At such close range, surely Devimon couldn't dodge. His arms may have been long, but distance closed quickly when one of them was ascending and the other was descending. With his attention elsewhere, he wouldn't be able to defend against her attack. If the blow landed, he'd be open to attack from her friends.

If her blow hit home, she would push off his head with whatever limb she could bring to bear, bringing herself clear of him so the other digimon would be free to attack. As she sailed away from her foe, she hoped that the opening would be enough. He was already hurt, so if they could deal enough damage within the next few seconds, they could defeat him. She was out of it for the moment, however. She was tumbling through the air, her push off having been clumsy. She'd be able to land without getting hurt, but she wouldn't do so with enough time to take advantage of the opening she'd created.

Yin was already on the move after he had reflected Devimon's attack. Yang would need his help. He saw Devimon dodge into the sky and saw his brother in need of...

"Need a lift, brother?!" Cried Yin as he leapt in front of Yang. Yang grunted in thanks, putting his foot on his brother's back.

With an effort, Yang pushed off, launching himself even further into the air. He aimed right at Devimon's exposed chin.

"Star Upper!" He cried.

Yin landed hard from Yang's push, and immediately retreated to support range once again. He was getting the hang of this! Shiv smirked at Yin's new-found confidence, he would be useful yet.

[Atlas Jiruga]

Atlas didn't know what to do anymore. He had lost complete control of Renal. "What is it that i am doing wrong!? Why isn't he listening to me? I thought we had a better bond than this." Atlas couldn't answer any of his questions and couldn't think of what he was doing wrong.

Renal let out a big roar when Devimon dodged his attack. He was furious. Renal jumped up at Devimon and with all his might he used a strike claw.

[Inori]

Inori offered Atlas a sympathetic sort of look. "Lost to the moment perhaps? I don't think it's your fault...maybe he thinks it is the best way to protect you?"

Wizardmon held a hand out, gathering electricity, but saving his attack for the moment. He was concerned he might unintentionally hit one of the others.

A vial flew out of the shadows towards Devimon, aiming for his face. Alchemon apparently, had less concern about hitting anyone else with one of his attacks. Inori glanced towards where she suspected Alchemon was, surprised that the virus type had opted to lend some sort of aid.
